Greeting DieselFunkateers!  Learning to ink again after 15 years is like learning to ride a bike…BACKWARDS!:-)  Styles and techniques have changed.  But the goal remains the same; Balancing time and detail.

Back to IT!

Greetings DieselFunkateers!  After a long Saturday with the Missus at Coney Island’s Mermaid Parade I’m back at work on BlackJack.  Its fun doing the “Superhero” poses as I’ve spent most of my career doing painted work.  Who knows, maybe with a bit more reference I’ll get used to it.

Standby!

Greetings DieselFunkateers!  While working on Matty’s Rocket BlackJack, and other stories I also teach students Entertainment. Design.  Vehicles, Props, Characters.  This is demo for my NYFA class I’m teaching right now.  Decided to do a quick 7 Paladin jet design.

The Learning never stops!

Greetings DieselFunkateers!  Back to work in the lab.  Had a great weekend at the NY Comicfest along with the Kids Comicon Crew.  I was happy to be able to get some work done on Alex Simmons’ BlackJack…to the shock I’m sure of Shawn Martinbrough:-)   Big thanks to Jean Marc Grob for the dreaded Grob-brush.  Very pleased with interfacing with young folks and showing them how I do what I do.

Back to it

Greetings DieselFunkateers!  I’m on my way to theNY Comic Fest in White Plains, NY.  I’ll be doing animation and art workshops for Alex Simmons’ Kids Comicon while there.    Additionally, I’ll be selling Matty’s swag and screening at the display.

A quick update on Alex’s BlackJack: Who Slew Goliath“ story I’m illustrating.  I just finished the massive cover..but can’t show it just yet:-( and now back on pages.

Also to let you guys know I’m not dead creatively, I included an image done recently for a potential project I’m going to be working on.  A sort of redux of an old Superhero idea.  After years of old cars and fedoras I figure its time to switch it up with a little deering do!  You know, comics really do ROCK.

See you there!
