DONE  ‘BLACK METROPOLIS:  30 Years of Afrofuturism, Comics, Music, Animation,  Decapitated Chickens, Heroes, Villains, and, Negroes.

Greetings Dieselfunkateers!  My first One Man Show is now completed.  It’s been an awesome series of days and events that have absolutely changed my life forever.  I was honored today to receive a visit from the Princess of Black Comics ‘Barbara Brandon’ (please go see her show “CULLUD” An exhibition of social commentary cartoons by Brumsic Brandon Jr. & Barbara Brandon-Croft !)  I was also  Interviewed by Daryll Benjamin of the AFRONERDS.

Further, I was tremendously honored to be visited and interviewed by The New York Times.  More on that as news arrives.

I received a surprise visit from my colleague in Adventure, Alexander Simmons.  He delivered my half of our GLYPH AWARD!

I’d like to thank NYU Gallatin, Dean Susanne Woffard, Gallery Head and fellow filmmaker, Keith Miller, Class Advisor, Meredith Theeman, and curatorial assistants, Tiffany Liu, and Nyelah Grace Sawyer and the rest of the support staff.

Without the support of my Wife and awesome writer, Melanie,  Kids Johnnie, Jacob, and Max, Parents, AJ and Rowena, Siblings Jim and Art, Intern, Sheriff, Friends, and Colleagues, I would not have succeeded at this Major Undertaking.  Special thanks to Photographer Ed Marshall, stylist/political activist/filmmaker, Sabaah Folayan , Producer, Debbie Mitchell, Writer, Darius James, and actress extraordinaire, Genesis Rivera.

I will publicly state my undying Gratitude, Love, and Respect to BOSTON FIELDER, founder of URBALT Media, and my brother and partner for what is to come.

Expect in the coming days, weeks, and months:  Matty’s Rocket Issue 3: Unexpected GuestsBlack Metropolis: The Book. Black Metropolis: Touring Art Show,  more work from The BLACK KIRBY Collective, and last, but most definitely not least, Afrofuturefest 2016.

You Are Encapsulated In LIGHT.
